A static IP.
Free.

A real, publicly routable IPv4 address — with every fibre plan we sell, anywhere in New Zealand.

    Static IP, no catch.

We think charging monthly for a configuration entry is a bit rich. So we don't.

    $0

    Free on every plan

Not the top tier only. Not a promo rate that expires. Included on both fibre plans, residential and business.

    A real public IPv4

Genuinely routable and yours alone — the kind that actually works for inbound connections.

    No CGNAT

You're not sharing an address with hundreds of other households. Port forwarding works like it should.

    We answer the phone

Our team's in Gisborne. Support 7 days, 8am–8pm — leave a message and we'll call back inside the hour.

What you can do with it.

A fixed IP address means the things you connect to on your home or business network from the internet keep working — the same address today, next month, next year.

    Security cameras & DVRs

Check the house, the yard, the shop or the shed from your phone — and have it still work next month. The most common reason people come to us for this.

    Remote access & VPN

Remote desktop into the office machine, or a VPN back to home. A fixed endpoint means no dynamic DNS workarounds to maintain.

    IP whitelisting

Plenty of banking, accounting, medical and government systems only let you in from a known address. Yours stops changing under you.

    Hosting & business kit

NAS, home server, site-to-site VPN, VoIP handsets, alarm monitoring, EFTPOS, rural telemetry. If it needs a fixed address, it has one.

    Switching? We handle it.

The bit people dread is being left with two bills, or a gap with no internet. Tell us your situation and we'll work around it.

    1

    Tell us where you are

Your address, and who you're with now. If you've already given notice, tell us the date.

    2

    We time the changeover

We line our start date up with your notice period so you're not paying two providers for the same month.

    3

    You get your address

Your static IP is assigned and sent to you before you go live, so you can update whatever needs it.

    Common questions

    The static IP FAQ.

Is it really free, or free for the first year?

Free, for as long as you're with us. It isn't a promotional rate, an introductory offer, or something we start charging for later. It's simply part of the plan.

Both fibre plans include it — you don't need the faster one to qualify.

Is it a real public IP, or am I behind CGNAT?

A real, publicly routable IPv4 address, assigned to your connection alone. You aren't sharing it with other customers behind carrier-grade NAT.

That's the distinction that matters: a "static" address that still sits behind CGNAT can't accept inbound connections, so it's no use for cameras, remote access or hosting. Ours can and is.

    Is it IPv4 or IPv6?

IPv4. That's what nearly everything expects — cameras, DVRs, remote desktop, VPN endpoints, and any system doing IP whitelisting.

Do I have to bring my own router?

No. Some providers who cater to technical customers expect you to supply and configure your own hardware. We don't — we'll sort the connection and make sure it works.

If you'd rather use your own gear, that's completely fine too.

I'm mid-contract with someone else. What now?

Give us a call and we'll talk it through. Most big-telco plans lock you in for 12–24 months and charge to leave early, so it's worth checking your exit terms before you move.

If you've already given notice, tell us the date and we'll line our start up with it so you don't get billed twice. We don't lock you in at our end — no contract, no exit fees.

    Will my address ever change?

Not in normal running. If something ever did need to change at a network level we'd tell you in advance rather than let your setup break unannounced.

Can I get this outside Gisborne?

Yes. We deliver fibre nationwide over the Chorus network — the same infrastructure the large providers use — so this applies anywhere Chorus fibre reaches.

Check your address above and we'll confirm in a few seconds.

    Stop paying for an extra.

Tell us your address and who you're with. We'll handle the switch, the timing, and your static IP — and a real person will be on the other end of the phone the whole way.
